Mark "Hollywood" McAnelly, President 2007-2008
Mark, a Paul Harris Society Member, is the past President of the National City Rotary Club. He has been an active member of Thousand Smiles Foundation since 1989, assisting in facility construction and maintenance, logistics, public relations, Go-Fer and evening entertainment organizer. Mark has a successful landscape / lighting contracting business which allows him to take time off to assist at the Thousand Smiles and NorCal Clinics throughout the year.

David Ruch, Treasurer 2006-2007
Dave is an Enrolled Agent and partner in the firm of Bullen and Ruch. He is Foundation Chair, and a Paul Harris Fellow in the Bonita Sunrise Rotary Club.

Kristy Beitey, Secretary 2007
Kristy is a long time volunteer at the Thousand Smiles clinics. She has coordinated the crafts for the children for many years, and more recently works at the hub to coordinate the flow of patient screening and procedures in the dental clinic. She also works at the important task of record keeping and minute taking. Kristy is a member of the National City Rotary Club.

Robert L. Chalfa, Director 2007
Bob, one of the founders of TS, served the Thousand Smiles Foundation as president 1987-1989 and has been an active Rotarian since January 1975. Bob, a Paul Harris Fellow, is the current President (2007-2008) of the Rotary Club of National City, CA. During Thousand Smiles Clinics, Bob, a fluent Spanish speaker, serves as master logistics person and jack of all trades. Bob is the owner of a heavy equipment sales company.

Bobby Chalfa, Jr., Director 2007
Bobby Chalfa, Jr., the Construction Manager of the Thousand Smiles Foundation, has been an active volunteer since 1989. He also helps with Spanish translations and helps coordinate general tasks and guide people to proper locations at the clinics. Bobby is a member of the National City Rotary Club. Bobby is a Realtor, Building Contractor and the owner of CHALFA INCORPORATED (www.chalfainc.net).

Shawn Moore, Director 2007
Shawn, is a past president of the Thousand Smiles Foundation 2004-2006, and is a member of the National City Rotary Club. He has been responsible for designing, aquiring and maintaining all TS dental equipment, and coordinating equipment donations since 1988.
Shawn is the San Diego manager of Valley Dental Supply Inc.

Lou Hernandez, Director 2007
Lou has been an active hard worker for the Thousand Smiles program for many years. He joined the Rotary Club Centenaria in Ensenada in 2000. He serves as the coordinator for TS for his club, and has been Centaria's International director for 3 years. Lou and his wife Sandy have lived in Ensenada 16 years, where they donate extensive time and energy to orphanages and other child-oriented programs. He is a semi- retired jeweler who shows his art at craft and gem shows, both in Mexico and the U.S.

Joe Mintz, Director 2007
Joe has been a member of the Carlsbad, CA Rotary club for 6 years, where he presently serves as the International Chairperson. Along with his wife Pat, Joe also fills the Sergeant At Arms position for District 5340. Joe has been involved in the leadership team for Carlsbad with Thousand Smiles clinics since 2002. Joe and Pat were jointly honored by their club with "Rotarians of the Year" for 2007 - 2008. Joe is a 15 year senior management veteran team builder whose experience lies in start-up operations, marketing, product launch, branding and sales of high tech products and services. Currently Joe is President of NovaTac, Inc., a manufacturer of tactical lighting products for use by military, law enforcement, and search and rescue professionals.

Kim Muslusky, Past President 2006-2007
Kim is a charter member of the San Diego North Rotary Club organized in 1993. She was the club president in 1998-99. She served as Rotary 5340 district secretary for three years, 2003-2005. She is the Interact Club advisor at Mt. Carmel High School. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor, and a member of the Bequest Society. She has been active in Thousand Smiles since 1995. Kim has her own graphic arts business, and donates her time and talent to TS and the Rotary district.

Katherine Tanaka, DDS, Director 2007
Kathi, a Paul Harris Fellow, is a past president of the Thousand Smiles Foundation 1992-1995 and 2000-2001. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Chula Vista, CA and has been active in Rotary since 1992. Kathi is the Director of the dental clinic at Thousand Smiles and the TS Liasion Vice Chair for the Rotary district. Kathi operates the Tanaka Dental Clinic in Chula Vista.

Terry Tanaka, DDS, Director 2007
Terry, a Paul Harris Fellow, is a long time member of the Rotary Club of Chula Vista, CA. Terry, one of the founders of Thousand Smiles, served as President in 1990-1992. He is a professor of dentistry at USC and a much-sought-after guest lecturer. He was awarded the President's Award of Honor for Exemplary Rotarian at the 1991 Rotary International Convention in Mexico City. This was one of only six such awards that were at that period given worldwide each year by the President of Rotary International. He was also recently honored by the National Academy of General Dentistry.
