Joe Mintz, President
Joe has been a member of the Carlsbad, CA Rotary club for 6 years, where he presently serves as the International Chairperson. Along with his wife Pat, Joe also fills the Sergeant At Arms position for District 5340. Joe has been involved in the leadership team for Carlsbad with Thousand Smiles clinics since 2002. Joe and Pat were jointly honored by their club with “Rotarians of the Year” for 2007 - 2008. Joe is a 15 year senior management veteran team builder whose experience lies in start-up operations, marketing, product launch, branding and sales of high tech products and services. Currently Joe is President of NovaTac, Inc., a manufacturer of tactical lighting products for use by military, law enforcement, and search and rescue professionals.

Dr. Daniel White, Treasurer

Kim Muslusky, Past President 2009-2011
Kim is a charter member of the San Diego North Rotary Club organized in 1993. She was the club president in 1998-99. She served as Rotary 5340 district secretary for three years, 2003-2005. She is the Interact Club advisor at Mt. Carmel High School. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor, and a member of the Bequest Society. She has been active in Thousand Smiles since 1995. Kim has her own graphic arts business, and donates her time and talent to TS and the Rotary district.

Mark “Hollywood” McAnelly, Director
Mark, a Paul Harris Society Member, is the past President of the National City Rotary Club. He has been an active member of Thousand Smiles Foundation since 1989, assisting in facility construction and maintenance, logistics, public relations, Go-Fer and evening entertainment organizer. Mark has a successful landscape / lighting contracting business which allows him to take time off to assist at the Thousand Smiles and NorCal Clinics throughout the year.

Robert L. Chalfa, Director
Bob, one of the founders of TS, served the Thousand Smiles Foundation as president 1987-1989 and has been an active Rotarian since January 1975. During Thousand Smiles Clinics, Bob, a fluent Spanish speaker, serves as master logistics person and jack of all trades. Bob is the owner of a heavy equipment sales company.

Dr. David Irwin, Director
Dave has worked in the dental clinic at 1000 Smiles since 2002. He was recruited by Dr. Jim Vernetti, one of the early members of 1000 Smiles, and a mentor of Dave’s at the Richard Tucker Study Club in San Diego. Dave is a member of the La Jolla Sunrise Rotary, and practices general dentistry in Pacific Beach.

Hugh Kramer, Director
Hugh has been a member of Old Mission Rotary since 1985, and was the charter president of the past Shelter Island Rotary Club.  He has chaired various Rotary committees, including International Services.  Both he and his wife Carol are Paul Harris Fellows.  After a teaching career, he served as VP of the American Lung Association and VP at Mercy Hospital as co-founder of the Mercy Hospital Foundation.  He and his wife founded and have owned the Discover Baja Travel Club for the past twenty years.  They have served as volunteers for the Thousand Smiles clinics since 2008.

Lydia Stewart, RN, Director
Lydia is a member and President-Elect of the Mission Valley Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow and recipient of her club’s Rotarian of the Year Award. She is a Past President and Board Member of the San Diego National Association of Hispanic Nurses, a  Board Member of the US/Mexico Sister Cities of San Diego / Leon, GTO, Mexico. She is a retired nurse who worked at UCSD.
